Northwood Club Schedule 23-24
Chorus with Ms. Dahl
Chorus is a performing group for 4th and 5th graders who enjoy singing. Students will learn about using correct choral singing techniques, performance techniques, music reading, sight singing, music styles and music history. This group will have 2 performances during the school year (afterschool-registration required with music teacher).
Get Fit Club
Circuit training is offered to all students 7:10 am -7:40 am (Monday & Thursday Grades K,1,2 – Tuesday & Friday Grades 3,4,5, Friday-registration required with PE teacher). Latest Report Time: 7:20 AM
Elite Explorer Club
Is a school-based organization formed to recognize and encourage scholastic achievement, character development, and community service. Northwood Elementary School has established baseline criteria for participation in this club. To receive an invitation, students had to achieve an A average AND be recommended by their teachers as a leader in all aspects of the school day.
Explorer Academy
(teacher recommendation required)
This 5th grade club is designed to engage students through front loading of science and social studies vocabulary and curriculum. The students will expand their vocabulary in these content areas and practice reading comprehension with science and social studies texts.
This 3rd grade club is designed to engage students through a “book club” format where students will work on their individual reading level to enhance their knowledge of literacy standards.

5th Graders participate in Northwood's news channel. (application required)
Eco-Team
Our 4th grade Explorers can help Northwood work towards it’s vision statement by joining our Eco Team. On Wednesdays, students will meet at 7:10 on Eco Alley and will be responsible for recycling pick up throughout the building. Eco Team members also serve as ambassadors for recycling through the school. They help classmates following recycling guidelines throughout the school day.
Extended Learning
This program aims to strengthen reading and math skills through small class sizes and data driven instructional focus. (teacher recommendation required)
Newspaper
3rd graders will have the opportunity to work with Ms. Dahl on Northwood's Newspaper. Applications are required.
