If your child has access to a laptop at home, we highly recommend they log on to Learning.com (through ClassLink) to become more comfortable with typing. They can also type stories and essays in Word for additional practice.
Bundle up and stay warm this weekend! π

Valentine’s Day β€
3rd grade will be doing a Valentine’s exchange on Friday, February 13th! We have 17 students and our class list is attached. If your child chooses to participate in the Valentine’s exchange, please have them send in a Valentine for everyone in our class. Remember that any candy/treats sent in must be store-bought. Students may bring in their own bag or box to collect their Valentine's, but we will also have bags to decorate in class!
Reading Skill Groups:
Students will participate in flexible reading groups across the grade level to receive instruction that best matches their individual reading needs. This means your child may work with different teachers during a small portion of the reading block, depending on the specific skills they are practicing or have already mastered. These groups change as students grow, ensuring they get the right support or enrichment at the right time. This will not change your child’s homeroom class, and your child will be with their teacher of record for the remainder of the ELA block. Flexible grouping simply helps us provide more targeted, effective reading instruction for every learner. Please reach out to Mrs. Imhulse if you'd like more information about reading skills groups imhulse@fultonschools.org.

Dear Families,
It was an exciting Read Across America week! The classroom was buzzing each day with creativity, enthusiasm, and a shared love of reading. From our fun dressβup themes to the special activities woven throughout the week, the students fully embraced the celebration and read / heard lots of wonderful books. Each morning, the school shared two special “Masked Readers” videos featuring one of our teachers disguised as an emoji-style animal. Today, we ended on an especially memorable note with a surprise visit from a Centennial High School football player as our mystery reader! The students were thrilled and inspired to see a community role model take time to share the joy of reading with them. It was the perfect way to wrap up a week dedicated to books, imagination, and the power of stories.

Dear Families,
As spring arrives and pollen fills the air, our third graders have been working incredibly hard! Today, students gave their very best effort as they completed their assessments, and we are so proud of the perseverance and focus they showed.
Beginning next week, teachers will be supporting students with continued practice and review of all third-grade ELA and Math standards to ensure they feel confident and prepared as we move toward the end of the year and their exciting transition to fourth grade.
Spring Pictures are on Tuesday, March 31st! Please make sure your child arrives to school on time and dresses to impress. This will be the class picture that goes in the yearbook. π
THE STUDENT SUCCESS SKILLS INVENTORY is used to measure student growth across THE STUDENT SKILLS taught by teachers. STUDENTS complete the inventory by indicating IF they almost always, always, sometimes, or never apply the skills being taught in the areas of SELF AWAWARENESS, SELF MANAGEMENT, SOCIAL COMPETENCE, COLLABORATIVE PROBLEM SOLVING, REFLECTIVE LEARNING STRATES, + SENSE OF BELONGING.
THE SSS INVENTORY is about 15-20 items and administered to students in the FALL and SPRING. It takes about 15 minutes to complete. STUDENTS complete the SSS Inventory using the Illuminate platform.
-SPRING ADMINISTRATION: MARCH 30-APRIL 17, 2026
-QUESTIONS? IF you have any questions about the SSSINVENTORY, please contact your school’s STUDENT SUCCESS SKILLS CHAMPION, JENNIFER WEEKS at weeksj@fultonschools.org .
